I dislike sharing tips for fear of sounding uneducated or worse too edgy, but this tip is really helpful, for those that dont know, you can bookmark/timemark a youtube clip. How this basically works is you can start a youtube clip at time period from a url. This is useful to point users, readers to specific regions of the presentaition.
Here is how to do it, you just gotta append a tag to the end of the video URL string, namely “#t=2m35s” For example,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPUSYTia-MI#t=2m35s
So this will start the media at 2minutes 35 sec mark, try it, click the above link and you can see U:God of Wu Tang in the documentary Rise of a Fallen Soldier – The story of U-God , talking about guns and being bullied. Thats right, even clan members got bullied as kids.
An to further demonstrate and more so over, just to show you how really great this doco is, watch U:God complain about RZA and the Wu Tang Clan here, I love uGod for many reason, mainly because, he’s not as successful as other key members an truly believes he should be ,an this really irks him, or more importantly hear the God talk about his new breakbeat joint, Wild Style Super Freak, bought back old school in nyc. And for history sake see how he and the RZA met, watch here. Or how sarcastically God suggests you gotta get shot 8 times to get a song out, or how he shifted and made it out that place.
And i am sure you will see why i love the Wu Tang Clan and its all members.
Ps you can also embed timestamped youtube urls as well, as demonstrated above. In order to do that, you will need to utilize the start parameter whereby you will specify the starting point in seconds.
PPs. Song.
